It’s hard to believe it’s July already, and the year is half over.
Finally got to get started in the new art journal this month with the yummy paper I made over spring break.
It’s quite a bit bigger than my last one which has taken a bit of time getting used to working larger. I do like not having to worry about running out of room especially with the calendars.
Here’s June’s calendar page for The Kathryn Wheel’s Calendar Challenge.
This was a busy month I guess since I only created 2 additional pages and some doodles
My plan was to add some pen work to “Soul” in the first one, but noticed when looking at the photo I had not. Oops! I’ll have to go back in and do that.
I also think that there was finally some light at the end of the proverbial tunnel in June. I didn’t have this overwhelming need to pour out my disenfranchised feelings that had been plaguing me the previous few months. Looking forward to summer break to get in there and just play again.
Happy July!
that calendar is so awesome
ReplyDeleteThank you Hena, and thanks for coming by!
DeleteHappy Independence Day.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, hell it's July already.
I'm amazed you had the time to do that calendar this month.
Do women actually hang bras on clothes lines like that.
I know, I got a bit behind and had to catch up on a couple of the weeks which was more time consuming than just a quick one-a-day.
DeleteHanging bras in general as opposed to using a dryer or hanging them in that manner with two clips? For me, yes to both. I won't use a dryer because it ruins them AND because it's always windy at my house if I hang them by just one strap they wave in the wind like a flag. That one strap and sometimes the wire gets all tweaked as it blows around in the wind. :)
I really don't care what you do with your underwear to tell the truth. Straight man here !. Yeah, folding them neatly, that's what we're known for. :-D
DeleteI was looking at the little painting thinking how truly realistic your rendition of the line of washing. The bra simply added that touch that twanged it like a tuning fork. More that any one single item of clothes that did it. And only two dots of colour and two lines. But here, I've never seen bras hanging like that. They are cup to cup over the cable with a peg on the chest band.
Ha ha! I know, maybe a little TMI! Aren't you glad you asked? :)
DeleteLove all the little pops of colors on your calendar pages! great journal pages too-nice doodling!!
ReplyDelete@Linda - Thank you! I had been previously using the little squares of paper for my color, but I got tired of cutting them out and then being limited to that palette. I'm having way more fun with each square being it's own little piece.
DeleteGreat pages for June, really like the use of the drawings.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anesha!
DeleteStencil envy! - love that chandelier. Your June pages are so lively and colourful. Have a great July
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynette! I've always been drawn to the chandelier prints that have been everywhere the last few years - simple and clean even if a bit trendy. Hope your July is wonderful too.
DeleteLovely work, your June pages look really good. I am not always so good at filling them out! Have a great summer, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie! I didn't like getting behind like I did this month. Catching up is very time consuming.
DeleteGosh you have had a busy June. I like how you've illustrated your days and the zentangles are great...I'm playing with them in a separate journal...they're very relaxing. Hope July isn't as hectic for you x
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of zentangles. I'll have to check that out.
DeleteI just love all your doodling and sketching, it makes such an interesting page
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have enjoyed adding the sketches in a lot the last couple of months.
Deletelots of yummy stuff in this blog post: especially love the 2 additional art journaling pages you made!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed making those pages a lot. It's funny how the photos made me realize I wasn't quite done. They don't look complete to me so I'll go back in and add a bit more I think.
DeleteHave a great walk!
ReplyDeleteOh really lovely pages, your June pages are so much more interesting to look at than mine
ReplyDeleteAnne x
Oops! Here I am sneaking in at last minute! Well, it’s still July isn’t it?! Love your daily squares - they are miniature works of art! Well done for keeping up so far!
