Today was the first day back in the classroom after a long, relaxing summer (that still went entirely too fast). The kids start back on Thursday, so the hope is to finish getting the room ready tomorrow and Wednesday. Maybe it's the 17 year itch, but I'm having a really hard time motivating and getting excited about it. I know once Thursday comes around and the kids arrive I'll be back in the groove pretty quickly. And as much as I hate to admit it, back into a routine as well. Other than the getting up early routine. I don't like that one very much.
Just some funnies to get you in the back-to-school mood right along with me. :)
This video makes me laugh out loud every time. It's so true! Other than the starting in September part.
There have been A LOT of those lately...taking all the fun out of learning.
I hope to have a good group as well. I've heard nothing but good things about the class coming up, so fingers crossed. We STILL don't have our list...and I'm chomping at the bit because I have SO MANY things to label. :)

lol..school doesn't start here till about Labor Day so we got another week or so more of summer. This is D's first year in public school and my first year with a school supply list.. argh!
I'm a little behind on my blog reading so just getting to this one. Think I have told you my daughter and SIL are teachers (second and first grade, respectively), but haven't been at it as long as you. They are in north AL and they go back in late July, w the students returning in early Aug. They get out around May 20 so they still get a nice break. Here in middle TN it's similar, maybe a few days later. On a recent vacation in Canada I met a man from Toronto who is a teacher and he told me school lets out there June 17th and resumed Sept 6 throughout the country. He teaches high school math which he has done "for many years." He and his wife left on vacation the day school was out in June and will return home around Sept 4, and will have traveled 12,000 miles! Most of their travels had been visits to U.S. and Canadian National Parks (we met them in Banff N.P.).
Some of those are really funny!! It does seem like the summer has flown by. I'll miss seeing your comments on my blog early in the day! ;)
ReplyDeleteI know you enjoyed your group of children last year, so I hope you get another great group again (with good parents!) this year.
