It's a "new" story for the movies.:)Pumpkin Delight (Kimberly)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15754292671421221960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7071830940339914895.post-6693950151915305702014-01-25T00:17:01.219-08:002014-01-25T00:17:01.219-08:00I came here to comment on your Sat 9 and saw the w...I came here to comment on your Sat 9 and saw the word "movies" and got sucked in. Loved Saving Mr. Banks. The Heat was adorable. The Way, Way Back was my favorite movie of the year. It did so well at Sundance that I'm surprised it didn't create more buzz. And thinking of Sundance, I love Redford but he was (at least) 10 years to old for The Company You Keep. Julie Christie, too. It was distracting! Side Effects is good too -- very Hitchcockian. The Gal Herselfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02566779726191649848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7071830940339914895.post-11226421646100757922014-01-24T07:25:42.465-08:002014-01-24T07:25:42.465-08:00I really want to see Side Effects! Especially after 500 in Wolf of Wall Street. Ya know I was having a conversation about "bad words" with someone the other day. I may have to post about that topic.Pumpkin Delight (Kimberly)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15754292671421221960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7071830940339914895.post-55944414853242307142014-01-22T07:26:20.608-08:002014-01-22T07:26:20.608-08:00We have only seen The Heat....on this list. I watched The Heat...because Melissa McCarthy was getting a lot of press....It was funny....but too many f bombs coming out of her mouth.katie eggemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00615362861509258088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7071830940339914895.post-52333470569283084292014-01-22T06:47:44.716-08:002014-01-22T06:47:44.716-08:00One Flew Over...IS a good film.I'd have to add...One Flew Over...IS a good film.I'd have to add The Godfather (1&2) to that best of the 70s list too. Both came from excellent books that I still liked better than the films, but they were well done in their own right as well.
Have you seen this making the rounds
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hCRDskZrUMU
Rigby makes that noise whenever I'm not doing something she wants me to. That's the sound I'm envisioning Jess making. :)
Pumpkin Delight (Kimberly)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15754292671421221960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7071830940339914895.post-8394974480155485812014-01-21T23:22:54.819-08:002014-01-21T23:22:54.819-08:00Yeah there's 30 nominated this year I heard on...Yeah there's 30 nominated this year I heard on the car radio the other day. But since each craft votes for their own category. I meant the directors as well as the actors are to see them all to 'in theory' render a valid jury. But I simply don't see it.
I've seen bits of all three LOTRs, chunks really. And since I've not read the books I cannot separate out the difference.
Odd in a way, but you would probably say one could skip the 70s for certain too, and I would argue it's thin, but you have One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, one of the best ever. I think you are correct though. If a story which is essentially a documentary about horrors here in Ireland is in at all you'd have ta say it's slim pickin's.

It's now pitch black in that just before dawn kind of way. Jessy has been our to clean herself about 20 mins a go. She is now on an armchair behind me looking all innocent but producing this high pitched sound in her throat. She wants to get to my bed and snuggle down without me in it. Little brat. You could probably skip passed 2013 (when you leave 2000 :) that is) without missing much. I've not watched any of the LOTR movies. Gollum gives me the willies.
What people watch 60 hours, the award people? I'd take that job. But only at the theater...I have a hard time watching at home (unless someone is watching with me) because I need to be doing something else and I can't pay attention well enough for a movie. I might watch all through if I have them here.
P.S. I don't for one moment believe people are going to view 60 plus hours of film. I sure a shootin wouldn't if I could afford a 'watcher person' who could give the nod to one or another had I the cash. Just sayin. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
