That’s a Lot of Questions

Kelly over at Dysfunctionalally Functional “tagged” me in this 11 question meme.  I like questionnaires and they make blogging easy, but this one has a lot of questions and a lot of rules so I’m adjusting a bit.  Thank you for the tags Kelly (I think)…
Update – I went back to link the tag and I can’t seem to find it.  I don’t know whose questions these are, but I’m sharing anyways since they took so much damn time!

Here are Kelly’s questions to me (or maybe not)…

  1. If "happiness" was the global currency, what kind of work would make you a gazillionaire? traveling, cooking, and drawing/painting
  2. Would you break the law to save someone you loved?  And, if so, how far would you be willing to take it? That’s a hard one!  I’m a rule follower, so I guess it would depend on the situation.
  3. Is it possible to really know the truth without questioning it first? Sure, I think there are just things that you know are true.  Others need to be investigated.
  4. Do you remember that one time . . . oh, about 5 years ago or so . . . when you were really, really upset?  Does it really matter now?  The only thing that makes me REALLY upset is betrayal, and I don’t tend to forget that.
  5. If not now, then when? Exactly!  Or maybe after I’ve thought about it to death.
  6. Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil? I think a lot of evil is done under the guise of good.
  7. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?  I’m not sure the decisions I make are based on someone else judging me .  Although maybe I’d wear my pajamas a lot more often if no one would find it inappropriate.
  8. Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing? I like my job for the most part, and I tend to be more productive when I’ve got a lot to do.
  9. Would you rather be an anxious genius, or a tranquil fool? Ha!  Neither sound all that good.
  10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? I worry about both those things.
  11. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? I’d be the same age even if I didn’t know how old I was!  :)

AND Kelly also awarded me with the Fabulous Blogger Award (thank you thank you) which had even MORE “questions”…

5 Things I Love
1.  My family (sometimes I don’t like them very much though)
2.  My friends
3.  My dog
4. shoes
5.  my iPhone

5 Things I Hate
1.  snakes
2.  mayonnaise
3.  talking on the phone
4.  driving in traffic
5.  having my picture taken

And last but not least (give me a break people, trying to kill three birds with one stone here ) this week’s Saturday 9
1. What helps you get through the night? I don’t usually have trouble getting to sleep unless I’m sick, and then a big swig of Nyquil always helps.  As a kid I had terrible allergies and asthma.  In order to breathe comfortably when I slept I had to prop up on bunch of pillows and basically sleep at a 90 degree angle.  Even though they aren’t really needed anymore, I still sleep with a ton of pillows.

2. Do you ALWAYS keep an open mind? I would say most of the time I do.  Sometimes I’ll put a wall up and not want to hear “it” but I can usually be talked into something if there’s good reason to be.

3. Who is the wisest person you know? I don’t know.  This question always stumps me.

4. Who is the strongest person you know? I don’t like these –est questions very much at all.

5. How would we tell by your behavior if you are having a bad day?  Ha ha, it wouldn’t be too hard since I wear my feelings on my sleeve.  I get quiet and mopey – I’m not someone who fakes it very well.  Luckily, I’m generally happy and don’t have to worry about faking it too often.

6. Does your ego sometimes get in your way? At times, sure.  There are only certain things that I have an ego about and if my plans in those areas go awry, then it sets me back a bit.  I think more often not having an ego and being too timid get in my way.

7. Do you believe in Zen? If yes, can it be mastered?  I don’t know enough about it to believe or not believe in it.  I do know that I’m probably too high strung for it though. :)

8. Do you believe you could teach someone, like your child, to be competitive?  It’s possible to teach someone the skills they need to be competitive in something, but wanting to compete is very different.  That probably comes from within.

9. Do you believe home is not a place but rather a state of mind? I don’t know, I like being at my house and there’s no one else there making it a “home” except for me.  So I guess, or maybe not.

Phew, that took a long time.  What about you????

  1. I hate those "est" questions also. I hate to name names, that is how fights are start... "I thought I was your best friend!"

    1. Ha ha exactly! Those are always hard for me to narrow down to just one. Oh well good thing it's only a questionnaire. :)

  2. I'll address the competitive one.

I think you can break that aspect of a kids nature by pitting them against older or stronger. However I don't think you can instil it into a person

    1. Yes that's a very good point. So often the parents are living vicariously through their kid they forget they're just kids.

  3. What an interesing post for you, today. I hate talking on the phone too, I make Mr. BC make all my phone calls. I love talking on Skype though!

    1. Ha that's a good way to put it. I've gotten to the point that for any "business" calls I need to make I scour their website to see if there's anyway to do it electronically via email or web chat or something. I think this tendency got worse after getting rid of my regular phone to just use my cell. My iPhone is the best at everything but actually talking on the phone.

    1. Texting is the best ever, especially for quick things like plans. If someone calls to talk about plans I secretly think, "why didn't you just text me?". Which is terrible I know.

  5. I envy people who freely show their emotions. I think my New England-ish-ness prohibits that in me.

  6. Oh my gosh, I love ALL of your answers. I too am a rule follower, and its hard for me to even THINK otherwise. I lived in LosAngeles for 4 years. I miss it terribly, but now being divorced, I could not ever afford to go back without a plan. Thanks for commenting on my blog, so I was able to find yours!! ~ Mair~

    1. Thanks for coming by Mair. LA is home and there are good things about it, but I'd love living elsewhere too.
