Procrastinating Sunday

In 7th grade world history, my teacher taught us a poem that still resonates with me today...
Procrastination is a crime.
It only leads to sorrow.
I can stop at any time.
I think I will tomorrow.
I'm not a procrastinator by nature, really disliking things-to-do hanging over my head.  But every so often, like tonight, I use delaying tactics...
Book club is Thursday night, and I haven't even started the book yet.  It's been downloaded since before Christmas.  While I have heard pretty good things about Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, I have absolutely no interest in reading it.  I'm in the middle of a chick-lit book right now which I am thoroughly enjoying and don't want to stop to read a book that I already know the ending to, and while maybe inspirational, is very depressing as well.  So instead, here I sit, blogging.

And to just prove that I'm procrastinating...
My favorite Super Bowl commercial -

Stay tuned...I haven't decided if I will read it or just pretend I read it.

  1. Meah, procrastination can be your friend. Plus it's rarely wrong. We do it when we believe we've not enough information about a major choice. Mostly though if you set a date a month out for a review you remove the pressure allowing a subconscious rumination.
That Fiat is a nice looking car. But I think no amount of viagra will beef-up what is essentially a girly design. Its primarily the headlamps and that shapely curve echos through. A nurses first real car, where the choices are between the Mini and VW Beetle. :-)

    1. You see procrastination isn't something I do. I've read two books since downloading the book club book. Normally I would have read that before reading what I want to read, just to get it out of the way. Just to get it out of the way so I don't have to worry about it is my MO. There's just something about this book...
The fiat is super cute, but I do think it's funny that their ads over here mostly have men in them as the owner/driver. I don't know one who'd buy this car and if they ever had to drive one they'd complain about how girly it is.
Over the last couple of years, they've curved a lot of the SUV bodies. At first I wasn't a fan, but they're growing on me. Kind of sexy.

  2. Fun Commercial. Procrastination is my middle name.

    1. I only saw a couple after the game and most were sad. This one made me laugh out loud.
Get 'er done is my middle name, which says something about how much didn't want to read the book. I started last night after the post and got through about 5 pages before falling asleep. At that rate, I still won't be done by Thursday. :)

  3. Awww...when I tried to click on the ad it said it wasn't available. I skipped the game, therefore missed all the commercials. I'll have to go looking for some of the better ones.

Unbroken sat on my shelf forever. I got it for my husband and he thoroughly enjoyed it, but I kept putting off reading it, despite hearing nothing bad about it at all. I finally forced myself last year and was so glad I did. I'll admit the first part was very slow for me, but once it got into the meat of things, I loved it. (so skip ahead if you need to) It was one of those books that I had to keep reminding myself was true, not fiction. It's an amazing story of survival. (and ultimately, forgiveness...though I've been told the film version cuts all that part)

    1. Oh shoot, I wonder what happened to it. I did replace with a new version.
I'm glad to hear you are happy to have read it. You're not the first to say a lot was changed in the movie. The book IS usually better anyhow.
I will check out your review. Thanks for posting the link.
