Saturday 9

1) Have you ever been to the Atlanta? No
2) Do you enjoy traveling by train? Yes.  I haven’t traveled much by train here in the US, but I love the subway.  The traveling I’ve done by train in Europe is so easy and much faster than it is here.
3) "Midnight Train to Georgia" is Sam Winters' signature number at the karaoke bar. What's your go-to song when you take the mic?  Well, I’m not much for karaoke.  I’ve been to Dimples in Burbank a few times with a group of friends who like to karaoke.  We had fun, but I never wanted to sing because they video tape the stage and then play it on their website (the horror).  Once, after a few too many, Jason talked me into singing “Come and Knock on My Door” from Three’s Company with him and another (brunette) friend, because I’m blonde – get it…Jack, Janet, and Chrissy?!?!  Anyhow, I agreed, but only if I could stand off stage so I wouldn’t be filmed.  We sang and laughed, and it was fun.  However, after we sat back down the DJ played the video, and it was of JUST ME, standing off to the side.  Sneaky guy!
4) Do you drink tea? When it’s cold I do.  I like to add a bit of cinnamon to it.
5) What's the most recent thing you purchased for your home? I thought I was going to have to purchase a new washer and dryer last week, but thankfully the repairman was able to fix it.  So the last thing I purchased was a multi-usb plug.
The separate plugs for each device are driving me mad.  This way there is one place to plug them all in. I may need to get another; one for upstairs and another one for downstairs.
6) Are there dishes in your kitchen sink right now?  Ugh!  Yes.  The dishwasher has been full and clean this week, and I haven’t had time to empty it.  By the time I get to it today it’ll be full all over again with the dishes left in the sink. I hate that!
7) Have you ever been fingerprinted?  Yes, by the DOJ and FBI, as a job requirement.
8) What was the last check you wrote?  The appliance repairman.  Before that?  I can’t tell you.  I never use checks anymore.
9) What color are your eyes? Blue

Just last night did I was notified that we spring the clocks forward this weekend.  Ugh!  I hate that we do it so early in the year now (said in a very whiny voice).  There are not enough hours in the day as it is and now this weekend we’re losing one.  And the hard-to-get-up dark mornings…so depressing.

    1. Yes, I do. A couple of years ago I had planned to go visit a friend up in Cayucos on the the central coast, but my car broke down. I thought I'd look into the train. That same trip that takes 3 hours by car was going to take me 12 hours by train. I didn't bother.

  2. I totally agree with you about the time change. Losing an hour is just not right.

  3. I didn't realize it until just now, but I do know all the lyrics to the Three's Company theme. That's a great karaoke story.

  4. The time forward thing is really annoying. I must go to bed right this second if I want 8 hours of sleep. And I do. Darn it. I have so much to do it is not even funny.

I barely ever use checks any more either. I can never find them when I need one.

How funny that the videographer taped you. You are beautiful. Embrace the camera : ) I hope you have a great week.

    1. I had to mail a check to a friend who had picked up some fencing materials for me to fix my fence. It took me a week to get it sent. I knew where the checks were, but I didn't have an envelope and I didn't have any stamps. So many things I don't use anymore with online bill pay.

  5. I was fingerprinted to be bonded for the bank,
I have written more checks back here than I ever did in CA, 2 a month.

    1. I guess that would make sense where you are now. Probably still some "old school" business practices without a lot of tech.

  6. You'll find a surprising number of Europeans have been to Atlanta. It's used as a hub instead of the ORD, JFK or any of the others. I seem to remember Toronto is one like it. Big time Delta. And South Western.

I drank green and white tea from 1300, it's now 0430 and I'm like a new pin I'm so bright.

I have one of those USB thingy's in the car but I never thought to get one for the house. Mind you some things won't charge unless you plug them into the computer.

Never been to Karaoke and can't see anything but baaaaaaaaaad things coming from it.

Summer time must be soon for us too. I'll look it up. And I don't think I've ever seen that comedy. I'll look that up as I'm at it.

    2. You didn't miss much - pretty cheesy 70s show full of madcap misunderstandings. It spent the better part of the 80s in reruns when I used to watch it.
You're spot on with the Karaoke. I know a small handful who go sober, for the singing. Everyone else has other intentions. :)
4:30? That hurts my feelings. I think you need to go back to bed...and turn that phone off! ;)

  7. I like trains, but I hate the subway. Maybe it is because I like to look out the window and see where we are but on a subway all you see is grey walls.

    1. I do agree with you on the windows, but not having to sit in traffic is a good trade off.

  9. Three Company! BWAHAHAHA... Now THAT is quality television! I can't believe we watched that crap! And it was NO BIG DEAL for Jack to act like he was gay. Like a landlord would ever say anything about three people living in an apartment NOW... isn't that just... an odd storyline come to think of it?

    :)

And why can't they take the time off or spring forward like in the middle of the week and leave our weekends alone?!

    1. Ha ha, I know. It was so progressive for it's time I guess. But now, it would probably be categorized as politically incorrect. And ya, having to lie about the coed roommates, in Santa Monica? Even then, pul-leeze!

I'm not gonna lie, completely dragging this week, and it's only Tuesday. Plus it's hot again.
