Los Angeles County warmed up the last two weeks of January. While the rest of the nation was covered in snow, our temperatures soared well into the 90s. We cooled off again for the first week of February, but are now back in the 80s this weekend.
This unseasonably warm weather has caused the trees to bloom a couple of months early.
It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens
Spring is sooner recognized by plants than by men. ~Chinese Proverb
I wonder if the trees will be done blooming before spring even begins.
Are you kidding me? 90? Oh my goodness! : ) I think I see the sun today. It hasn't been here for about ten days! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
ReplyDeleteIt hasn't been that warm up here in No. CA but my ornamental plum tree in my "kindergarden" is in full bloom! Thursday it was 68...very nice as it is still below 40 in the mornings...but yesterday it was 75 degrees across the Golden Gate! Amazing and I am enjoying every second of it!
ReplyDeleteLoved the poems and sayings regarding spring...nice touch...I am borrowing one for a class project :)
Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
Those cherries look lovely.
ReplyDeleteAchoo! Yep, Spring's here early but I hope the blooms last a good long while. They're so pretty.
