A Second Month Down

I seem to always start off these calendar posts by mentioning how fast the month went. This post is no exception. With only 28 days, February flew by.

Life was extremely busy this month and looking back at the calendar makes me remember what a terribly boring person I was in February…work, home, bed, work, home, bed.  Oh well, maybe March will be more exciting. :)

February’s calendar is a bit kitsch as far as February goes, but it was fun and easy to make.
stuff 309 The background  was made with an acrylic wash and stamps while the hearts and page were doodled.

This wasn’t a very creative month for me either, unfortunately.  However, I did start work on a new book for my trip to Portugal.

The covers were finished and the signatures have been put together.  I didn’t have wide enough tape in my stash for the binding, so I had to order some 3” gaffers tape and some waxed thread.  It finally arrived yesterday.  Hopefully there will be time to stitch up the book before I actually leave.

The tax man comes today and then company visiting for dinner. Maybe I’ll be able to fit in some creativity tomorrow.

Indoors or out, no one relaxes in March, that month of wind and taxes, the wind will presently disappear, the taxes last us all the year.

  1. Awesome heart page! What do you do with yoru past journals? Do you have them on display? They are too beautiful to keep in a drawer!

To answer your question...I have to pack my classroom because my building is getting remodeled this summer...and I have no idea where I will be next school year because there won't be a place in first grade for me. So all the boxes get packed and put into storeage and I hope they all end up in my new classroom where ever it may be!

    1. They're on a shelf in the office. Not really displayed because they were more for me than anything else. But thank you.
Oh bless your heart, another move. Just the thought of having to pack/unpack again stresses me out. Good luck.

  2. I honestly don't know where you are getting the time to do these at all. But I am truly glad Feb is over. It's bright at 7.15 in the morn and at 6.15 in the evening. It really does help things.
Easter is the 1st of April so is your vacation period bracketing that date.
You don't call it Spring Break I assume, as that has echos of crop tee-shirts beer and heatstroke.

    1. Hardly any time, but it keeps me sane so I try to find it.
Yes still call it spring break...ahhh the good ole days. :). I've got the week before and the week after Easter off. Very much looking forward to it too.
It's been nice to have the light last a bit longer, but I'm not ready for the heat that's just around the corner. Still recovering from last summer lasting until December. It was almost 90 today.

    2. 90 ! ? !, in March. Says the person shivering in a dressing gown. When I read this last night my instinct was to stick out my tongue and blow a raspberry of exasperation. But it was just too sad to do so since we N-E-V-E-R get to those numbers.

    3. Ha ha while my comment wasn't meant as a flaunt your response of never reaching 90 is very much so. :)
