Call Me, Maybe – Sat. 9

1) Do you owe anyone a phone call?  Probably because I am the worse phone caller ever.  I’d rather talk to you in person.

2) Do you still have a landline phone? Nope.  I haven’t had a landline since I still lived in my condo about 10 years ago.  When I moved in, I did have a phone for local calls and suddenly one day the phone stopped working.  I bought a new phone, but that one didn’t work either.  So I called the phone company.  They told me since the problem was coming from inside the walls and not outside, it was my responsibility and since I hadn’t purchased the $2 per month insurance from them they would charge me just for the tech to come out as well as the cost of the repair.  So I canceled my landline and haven’t had one since.  Sometimes I wish I had one because, while I do love my iPhone for everything else, it stinks as a phone.  I actually think that’s part of the reason I don’t like talking on the phone.

3) When was the last time you looked up a number in the phone book?  I don’t know, it’s been a long while.  I do have a phone/address book that I look in for addresses all the time.

4) Do you receive more calls or texts? Thankfully texts.

5) Call Me, Maybe’s Carly Rae made the Final 3 on Canadian Idol. Can you name another cultural import from Canada? Isn’t Martin Short from Canada?

6) Where do you listen to the radio most often? Car? Work? Somewhere else?  I don’t listen to the radio.  Instead the ipod always plays in my car and, if I’m working late, in my classroom.

7) Is there a domestic chore you excel at? Is cooking considered a chore?  I like to cook, so probably not a chore.  Other than that, I’m not terribly domestic.

8) Do you consider yourself competitive?  I’m having déjà vu with this question.  Very, but not usually with others, just with myself.

9) Tell us your superhero name -- as determined by the color of your shirt and an item to your right. Ha, ha! The Red iPhone or The Red Remote Contol. I like my pornstar name much better (first pet and the street you grew up on).

Enjoy your Saturday…I’ll be working.

  1. I think The Red Remote Control sounds very techy. Like you could fight crime without ever getting up off the couch.

  2. I'm like you, I hate calling people, especially some one I don't know.

    1. That's even worse. I think business should have a text/email option for contacting. I put off those kind of calls for weeks just because I don't want to talk on the phone with someone I don't know. I utilize the live chats a lot. Sometimes I wonder if all this great tech is turning me into someone who is antisocial. :)

  3. We have a threesome deal with the phone company so the phone is included, however, I don't know our home number and our phones don't work : )

Happy Saturday to you. I am editing photos from a wedding while listening to five boys wrestling, so I guess I am working today too.

    1. You are working for sure...5 boys alone are work. I'm training teachers today who are also sometimes just as much work! :)

  4. So that is where Pumpkin Delight comes from....I worked in a business that was totally all about being on the phone. I taught bankers how to talk to customers on the phone, but I don't like talking on the phone. I am that old cliche, that does not apply to you! Those who can't....Teach.

    1. Those who can't talk in the phone teach? Ha! Well I hope that's what you mean anyway. :)

  5. If I could get a deal on the phone I'd get rid of it. But since it's included with the internet connection I'm stuck with it until they begin 4G wireless. But I don't really use a phone at all and I've got unlimited 24/7 calls.
And Pamela Anderson is a Canadian chick. I'm not sure she's an import exactly though. More a gift. A bit like the gift the US gave the world with David Hasselhof

    2. 17/26 LA Kings are Canadian. Or are they only Canadian when they lose :-D. Winning, they are LLLLLL.AAAA ALLLLL THE WAY.

    3. Ha ha! You're right! I didn't even think of them.
And yes they're REALLY Canadian these days sitting last in their division. :)
There are always talk/jokes about this inferiority complex Canadians have. It's never made a whole lot of sense to me but our comedians don't miss a chance to add it to their "bit".

  6. Cell phone reception is spotty around here (we're the part of the map that is never lit up when search the coverage maps) so I need a landline.

And I'm with The Gal, that was the first thing I thought of--zapping crime with your universal remote!

    1. I think that sounds like a great job! I wouldn't even have to get out of bed unless I wanted to. And I'd still be helping people. :)

  7. YES>.. love that I'm not competitive with others.. mostly myself. I am very internal with my competitiveness as well.... good way to verbalize that (so to speak) LOL

  8. I'm the same way about getting phone messages. I hate calling people back. Just send me a text.

  9. I am with you on the phone thing...we have a landline because it comes with the tv/internet bundle...usually we let it go to message when we are eating dinner or working on something...my kids would call my cell if there was an emergency.

I am also competitive with my self- trying to better my last time/mileage.

    Happy Saturday!

    1. Every so often when I have to make an important call I wish I had a landline because the quality of the cell is limiting.
