August is Over and There’s Not Much to Show For It…

The second worst thing (after waking up to an alarm clock) about ending vacation and going back to work is that I don’t have as much time to draw or paint or journal or really anything fun.  It’s the end of the month and there isn’t much to share.

The Kathryn Wheel’s Calendar Challenge continues.  It’s getting harder and harder coming up with calendar ideas.  In fact, I think I’ve done this one a time or two (or five).

A couple of months ago, I made a bunch of cards to use up supplies that had been retired.  I ended up selling most of them over the summer so had a good excuse to buy some new supplies which I have already used to make more cards.

Happy September!

  1. The card designs are very good indeed.
I found if I was stuck the National Gallery the British Museum or Natural History Museum would always open up new vistas, design-wise. You have lots of places in LA. Not everything is Impressionist or Modernist, granted a lot is, but not all. Is San Simeon open to the public. Is that a do-able visit on a day trip. It seems a good skelp up that Coastal Hwy.

    1. Thanks!

The Central Coast is a favorite of mine. I've got some friends who live in Cayocus and Morro Bay. It's beautiful there, but it's a little far for a day trip, about 3 hours. Ventura and SB or the LA beaches are more reasonable for the day.

    2. I was actually thinking about the Hearst Castle. Not so much the area, lovely as it is. No, the castle is jammers to the ruddy rafters with a designs from every era and place. He did things with design. He did things with design that the original designer would weep. Things soooooo wrong they were spot on.
Anywoos, there is so much that your mind would do a design re-boot.

    3. Ah, right, Hearst Castle. I haven't been there in years. Yes, it's really something. The ceilings alone, if I remember correctly, are awe inspiring.

    1. Thanks.
We've still got months before fall comes. I'm trying not to complain too much (because it saps my energy and I'm too hot to do so) but I haven't opened a window in weeks. It's getting depressing that it's still 90 degrees at 10:00 PM. I hope you have some cooler weather when home.

    1. Oh, thank you! I have been unable to comment over at your site for months, something to do with compatibility with Disqus. I come by often, but can't comment. :)
