How is it Freaking December Already!?!?!

The months keep clicking off the calendar.  It’s hard to believe we are 29 days away from 2014…ugh!

Here’s this month’s calendar for November’s Calendar Challenge at The Kathryn Wheel.  I went outside my usual calendar style, and I’m pleasantly surprised.   Once it was done, filling in the dates was a cinch.

There wasn’t a lot of time to work in the journal or the sketchbook this month, even with the week off, but I did manage to play around a bit…stuff 342stuff 341 stuff 340    stuff 339

I spent a lot of time making some baby shower invitations for a friend...52 in all!  They turned out cute, and she really likes them, which makes me happy.

Happy December!  The countdown to 2014 has begun…

  1. Those cards are actually very good. So good in fact you might want to assert copyright on the design.
    And yeah December eh.
I really like the heart on the printed page.

    1. Thank you! Ya know, there are a lot of things I like about December...being the end of the year isn't one of them. It's gone way too fast.

  2. Are you near the Cougar.
Fair play to the cat for getting in to Griffith Pk, looking at the spaghetti nest of roads and motorways it took a bit of grit. Did you see the National Geographic shot of him with the Hollywood sign behind him.
Be a bit sterile for him though if they don't ship in a mate.

    1. Yah, that is such a great photo.
About once a month or so there are wild animal sightings in populated areas that make it onto the news - bears, mountain lions, coyotes, raccoons, etc. I often hear coyotes at night if the windows are open or see them crossing the streets if I'm driving real late at night. In fact just last week I had to swerve out of the way to keep from hitting an opossum who jumped out of the median divider onto the three-lane highway. What we forget is that LA County is basically built into the side of multiple mountain ranges. We have essentially invaded their homes, not the other way around. What surprises me about this one is they've let it stay so long. Usually the animals are tranquillized and moved immediately. He must not be making a nuisance of himself during regular business hours or he'd be outta there.
I would think it would be awfully lonely to be the only one, but I do know they don't usually hang in a pack.

  3. Thank for sharing your lovely calendar page. So happy to have you still playing along with the challenge :-) I'm interested that you stepped outside of your comfort zone and tried something different for you - and it really worked, I love it. I need to take a leaf out of your book and try something different too.....

  6. I remember you lamenting last month that you were tired of the calendars. I think this new way is better, and probably much quicker. I need to take a page out of YOUR play book. Happy December.

    1. Yes, I was lamenting. :) It was a fun page to make and THEN easy to keep up with.

  7. sweet November calendar page-just delightful! Wonderful journal pages too. And the cards-great design and what an accomplishment to do 52 of them! It's sometimes boring (at least to me) to do so many of one deign.

    1. It was a lot, but I got it down to an assembly line and got a chance to catch up with some Sons of Anarchy episodes I recorded. It went by fast. :) Once I designed it and got everything stamped and cut, it was mindless work that kept me busy.
