Mamma Mia

As requested, my take on Mamma Mia.

Jason and I saw Mamma Mia yesterday. We were giddy with excitement. We made a day of it. We have both seen the play twice and L-O-V-E-D, loved it.

We enjoyed the movie. It was fun. We both agreed that there is something about the play that couldn't be replicated in the film. The performers in the play were amazing and because it was live, the songs were much more powerful. That being said, we liked the movie. I'm sure if we hadn't the play to compare it to, we would have loved the movie.

The actors did a decent job with the songs (some better than others), and those songs are so great. It was corny and fun, and the scenery was breathtaking. We didn't get up and dance like Grandma J did, but I did sing. Overall, it was a good movie.

  1. Thank you for the review! I was dying to get your take on it! I guess I'm glad I haven't seen the play because I hate it when the movie is less than stellar.

I am also glad that you didn't dance in the aisles...I mean with Jason having an "apple sticker" stuck to his scrotum!

I have a tiny bit of consumer advice for you on my site. :)

  2. As I watched the movie, I had a sneaky suspicion that something wasn't quite right. I thought maybe it was one of the actors or the directing or something else like that. But I guess Grandma J really figured out what was wrong.

Anyway, I'm not one who likes to see the same movie twice, but I'd be fine going to see this one again. Even if it wasn't as good as the play.

I had a nice time. And I don't think it was due to the sticker.
