Brrrrrrrr

We have cooled significantly this past week.  While it was almost 80 degrees on Monday, the temperature has droppeed and dropped and dropped some more since then.

I turned off the heat when I left the house this
afternoon because I planned on being gone for the day.  When I returned about 2 hours ago, my house was sooooo cold.

I also came home to a puppy who found a warm spot to curl up in.

  1. 33f is 0c more or less. Even for us that's cold. And the 58f at 14c is way lower that I have the house E-V-E-R. I tend to have the place between 18c and 23c winter or summer. A house a 14c is quite unpleasant. And I expect if the house is that cold a wind is making it feel much lower.
It must be like when we come back from Spain without having changed back to our normal clothes. Or that scene from Cool Runnings when the Jamaican bob-sleders encounter the Calgary winter. :-)

  2. Yes, exactly! Our winter clothes are essentially pretend winter clothes, CA winter clothes. When the temps drop like that, we're all a little unprepared. I do like it though. Other than rain yesterday it's been sunny and clear, just cool and crisp. The nights are COLD though. It apparently dropped into the 20s last night.
Oh yes, much too cold for the house. I'm not a fan of running the heat because that hot blowing air irritates my sinuses. I will keep the house cooler and wear warm clothes just so I don't have to turn it on for long periods of time. Which is why I turned it off while gone. It took about 2 hours last night to get it warm enough to change clothes and go to bed. I was too cold to even take of my boots let alone anything else. :)

    1. (chuckle) Tiz easy to like it when you have it only once in a while. But in truth most Irish people don't know how you live in LA in the heat at all. And boots ?. How boots. Like was a Cossack would don to go on a few hundred mile hack over a steppe or http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374306418049&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524446585435&R=452469139478&P_name=Manolo+Blahnik&N=4294911160+306418049&bmUID=kbh7Yl6

    2. Oh my word, I think those are the MOST expensive boots in the world! I don't think the total of all my shoes combined was that much. :)
While I've got some similar, I'm wearing Uggs in this weather - they're snuggly. That's why I'm enjoying the weather...I can wear all my boots. I only get to wear them a couple of months a year.

    3. You are going to get the only bit of fashion advise from me, ever. Dump the Uggs. Don't give them to OxFam, Goodwill or any other charity, you will not be doing anyone a boon with Uggs. They might be warm, but you don't go out wrapped in your duvet. :-)

    4. Ha! While I must admit they are quite casual and can, if one isn't careful, come across as sloppy. BUT, they don't have to. When I just can't get warm, they do the trick. So keep your blogging hands off my uggs. ;)

  3. It was 31 degrees when I got up this morning...and that was at 7 a.m!he plus is I don't get too hot when running....and I cool down very quickly when I get done.

My son in CO said this is the first time he has seen snow stick for a few days. it usually melts....he said it got to 10 degrees for a few minutes yesterday.

    Keep warm my friend :)

    1. Yes, we always look like a bunch of wimps when we say it's cold here. A friend of mine in Idaho keeps texting me their temps of 0 degrees. I've done real winter before, so I know this is nothing in comparison, but I'm enjoying it very much. :)

  4. I hadn't even seen the dog she blended so well with the bedclothes. The scamp had snuggled in after you left ?.
Are her ears always pricked even in repose.

    1. Yes! She somehow got under there. All the pillows were turned about and the blankets were pulled up and disheveled. She must've been cold too. :)
Her ears are generally pricked. She'll put them back or let them drop to the side sometimes, but the points are always pointy. My previous Queensland came home with little flop over ears but as she got older they pricked as well. Rigby's have been pricked (and giant) since I got her.

  6. Oh my gosh. That is so cute that the dog found a place to snuggle up : ). It has been cold and snowy here in Philly all week. I miss sunshine! : )
