Thanksgiving has arrived,
A time to be thankful,
With turkey and gravy,
And don’t forget the mashed potatoes.
There are many things to be thankful for,
Like family, friends, and regular pay,
But most of all I’m thankful
To not participate in “Black Friday”.
Tons of deals and specials
At Target, Walmart, and Kohls too
Beginning at 5am, 4am, 3am!
Get out of town! How can that be true?
I’ll be spending my last day of vacation,
Because Monday’s so close I dread,
Sleeping in until noon,
Being crowd free, and shopping online instead.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving, Pumpkin! I don't do Black Friday in person ....I do it over the internet. Several stores offer the same deals on-line right after midnight tonight. Then I sleep in on Friday
ReplyDeleteDid you write this poem? It's very clever, and I detect your voice in it! Enjoy the rest of your week off.
ReplyDeleteYou're smart, shopping online! Crowds are just awful this time of year.
ReplyDeleteThis was so good. Great poem. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteStopping over from Mama Kat's. Great poem. I will be right there with ya on Black Friday...online shopping or homemade treats for me all the way. Enjoy your time off.

Cute poem! I am going out there with my niece tomorrow...but I like your idea better.
ReplyDeleteNice poem--I like the funny ones. You really hate shopping on Black Friday I take it. My husband and I actually look forward to it--we don't go all day anymore though like I used to. Don't have that many to buy for now. Sad.
ReplyDeleteYour way of spending Black Friday doesn't sound bad though--we'll do that when we're older.
Visiting from Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop. I did this one too and also the 101-word story one.
Look how creative you are pumpkin. It borders on insane :) It is just one of the many reasons I think you are FAB!
