Happy Father’s Day

In honor of Father’s Day, I want to share some of my favorite posts about my dad.  This day is rough without my dad around anymore but remembering the fun stories helps.

My Dad the Hoarder

My Dad the Good Guy

My Dad the Disciplinarian

Happy Father’s Day Dad and to all the other Dads out there!

  6. @GJ and Becky - Fun stories for sure; not at the time of course. :)

    @Lisa - Thanks Lis!

  7. @M - It's so funny how the perception of the stories change over time. The clothes throwing story makes me laugh now, but at the time I couldn't have been more mortified. For me, a nice part about growing up is the changes in the relationship with my parents.

  8. @Mark - I know my mom was frustrated with it (all the stuff) for a time, but it is kind of nice that he took care of her (and me) even after he was gone.

  9. It was nice to read your stories about your dad. It is obvious that you and your dad had a close relationship. I missed that with my dad but I did have a close relationship with my Mom. She died last year. This year's Mother's Day was especially poignant for me as Father's Day was for you.

  10. I just signed up for Sketchbook 2012...you will have to do yours this year because it will be in L.A! It is in S.F. so you will have to give me your book number...it will be fun to see mine in N.Y. next week.

    Happy Sunday!

  11. @Ron - Thank you. The first year was so hard - all the first (fill in the blank) without your loved one. Being without them doesn't get any easier, but handling it does.

  12. @M - Yay! I just finished gessoing all the pages in mine. One more week of work, and then I can enjoy it. :)
    I also think the photomobile comes to LA this year, so I will have stop by and see that too.

  13. I had a good chuckle looking back over these posts.

    Thank goodness he wasn't a junk hoarder. It seems that he hoarded very useful, practical stuff.
