This Week’s Saturday 9

It’s midnight on Saturday and after a very busy day I thought I’d be asleep in bed already.  Alas, I fell asleep on the couch about 7:00 and am now wide awake.  So I’ve got some time to do the Saturday 9

1. Do you ever have trouble making up your mind?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no - I find that if it’s an important decision, I can.  If it’s not so important like where to go out to dinner, I have a harder time because I’m happy with whatever.   I wouldn’t say it’s a steadfast rule, but most of the time that’s how it works out.

2. Do you think you always learn from your mistakes?  Always is one of those words that gets you into trouble.  No, I don’t ALWAYS learn from them, but I try to.

3. Have you ever felt that you were either older or younger, for your age during a particular time?  Right now I do!  I don’t know how I can possibly be 38 years old.  That’s a lot of years, and I don’t feel like that many have gone by.

4.  Have you had trouble losing weight?  I know how to do it.   Do I sometimes have trouble doing what I need to do?  You bet.

5. Who's the most "wholesome" rock artist that you like?  I don’t know.

6. Do you like to party or are you more of a homebody? A little of both please, but maybe lean a little more towards homebody.  A party in my home? That’s cool!

7. Do you feel the need to share your burdens?  I don’t know…If I do, it’s not coming from a woe is me place but more from the need to talk through it.  But most of the time I internalize them.

8. Do you know the lady next door? (yes, you can pick either side.) I know her in that if I see her I know she’s my neighbor.  We wave at each other, but I’m not close with any of my neighbors.

9. Do you ever feel inferior? Only all the time.  No, that’s not true.  There are some things that I have confidence in, but there are many more things that I don’t.  I think I care a little less about feeling that way now than I used to.

And you?

  2. HAAAAAAAA, with the way you went on about the 40th birthday party I had the impression that you were the other side of 30. 28/9ish. :-D :-D

And really, wholesome Rock. That's sorta missing the entire point. If it hasn't got the over or undertones of wronged love it isn't Rock. Wholesome, pfff.
Feeling inferior or being made feel so is something done to steal. Eleanor Roosevelt said it true ' no one can make it so unless you allow them'. However you do need training to retain ones spine for much of social convention is designed to reduce one.
On mistakes, one can repeat them if you only look to the error and not the thought process that lead into it. The car crash isn't the problem so much as the driving in the ten minuets before it.

    1. @vince - it's not funny! ;) But isn't 40 the new 30, or some nonsense like that.

  3. I love to party at home, I have difficulty losing weight, and I sometimes don't learn from my mistakes.

  4. I'm sympathetic. Of course I am. Probably more so than you might think. But you'll find the next few years a revelation, and your happiness level will just keep going up and up. The hilarious thing is, there is no good reason for it doing that. 'cept you are far less likely to give credence to any impingement.

    1. @vince - ya I think you're right. There's mostly a certain comfort in yourself at this point - I wouldn't say completely comfortable - but more so than my 20s. The hardest thing about the number is that I constantly think, "no, you're too old for that now." There are still things that I wasn't capable (mentally or financially) of in my 20s when I should have done them. Now I want to, but they seem silly for someone with a job and a mortgage. For someone who is almost 40...gasp!

  5. Great answers, Kimberly! I especially relate to your answer for #7. I, too, share only because of my need to talk everything to death!

    1. @kelly - certain things I'll talk about a lot. Most of the time though I think everything to death.

  6. You're right about the word "all." It can be kind of a trap. I hate entertaining at home, so I'd prefer at party at your place, too. :)

    1. @the gal - yes I love to have everyone over and take care of them. All are welcome! Afterwards I love when they leave and I have the house to myself. :).

  8. You are fascinating. I hope you will feel more confident about yourself soon. Seriously. What isn't great about you? You work hard. You are creative. You care for others and animals. You have a brilliant smile and a beautiful heart. I want to be you.

  14. @Kwizgiver - Right? When you're the sole decision maker it's nice to let someone else be in charge sometimes.
