Cold Turkey – a Saturday 9

1) Are you still feasting on cold turkey, or any other leftovers, from your Thanksgiving meal? No, and a left over turkey sandwich on Friday is the best part of Thanksgiving.  I thought about doing my yearly “Come Get Some Leftovers” turkey dinner this year, but in the end I just couldn’t get it together in time.

2) AAA says Thanksgiving is a big travel weekend. Did you venture far from home for your holiday dinner? Just across town.

3) Is this weekend the official start of the Christmas season for you?  No, I’m not yet into the Christmas spirit.  It comes at different times each year.  It’s hard to think about Christmas when still using the air conditioning.  However last night my friend Elana and I spent the evening making staff Christmas gifts for each of our schools.  That was fun.

4) Which couple would you rather hang out with -- Fred and Wilma Flintstone or George and Jane Jetson?  Oh the Jetsons for sure.  They had all those futuristic gadgets.  I think Fred was kind of an ass.

5) Have you/would you ever get your teeth whitened?  Several years ago, while on a cruise my mom and I were talked into having it done in the spa.  It cost an arm and a leg and follow up treatments were required at home.  I did them for a bit, but now, other than the dentist cleanings, I’m good.

6) Do you still have your high school class ring?  I’m sure it’s somewhere in my jewelry box, but it hasn’t seen the light of day since high school.

7) Here's $50. You must spend it all in one place. What are you going to do with it?  Nothing too exciting – probably buy gas or pay a bill.

8) Could your vehicle use a trip to the car wash right about now?  About two weeks after my car’s last wash we had one of those stupid rains when it just spits and makes mud with the layer of dust on the car.  It never rained enough to wash it all off, just enough to make it spotty.

9) Did you hit the snooze button this morning?  I did set the alarm this morning, but no snooze button.  I only do that for the middle-of-the- night work alarm.

  2. Heck it's so dark here that I think my new camera has an error. Air conditioning is only used to clear frost and breath ice from the windscreen before driving. And the very thoughts of a turkey which I've got in the freezer for a month now is making me ill.

We don't really do class rings. I could get one from NUIG but it's actually pretty naff designwise.

At the moment the dog has a sock and is shaking the bejeepers out of it, all done with one playful eye on me from under her brow.

    1. The funny thing about the turkey is that it's not so terribly difficult that we all couldn't just make one every once in awhile, but the thought never occurs to me until it's the day after TG and I want left overs. It'll pass. :)
Ya know, in Boise it was quite dark too - I was surprised we didn't see daylight until about 7:30 am, and they said that before the time change it was more like 8:30. You're even further north than that, so I bet it's dark. It's a lot easier to nest and get settled into winter when it's like that. We keep getting starts and stops with it.
I don't know if kids do class rings anymore. I don't hear about them much.
Just yesterday, I was talking with someone about how dogs, no matter what they are doing, know where we are at all times. They keep that watchful eye out on their loved ones. Rigby had a very large lab spend the day with her yesterday so she is beat. Woke up late to go outside and now back to sleep. I love a tired dog!

    1. Oh, Rigby would be in doggie-heaven at your house! I'm afraid if I fed her like that she'd turn up her nose when I fed her dog food.

  4. I prefer the Jetsons also.

My dog is sitting beside me right now, hoping I give her a bite of my apple.

    Happy Saturday!

  5. I picked the Flintstones because of bowling. I knew we'd have a chance to have some fun. :-) I'm a terrible bowler.

    1. Hey, I guess that's as good as any other reason to hang out with a cartoon character. ;)

  6. Jetsons all the way. I don't want to ride in Fred's car, too much work.

    1. Ha ha! I had a friend in high school who had an old beat up celica, and it would stall out almost anytime we stopped at a light. He'd shout, "pedal faster Wilma!" That always made me laugh.

  7. Oh I wish D came with a snooze button. All you can do is hide under the covers am hope he doesn't find you, but he does.

  10. I so did not think of all the future toys I could have played with at the Jetson. I picked Fred and Wilma because they always seemed to be having some fun.

I'm late to the show but here I am.
