Saturday 9

Just got home and it’s FREEZING!  I love it! Snuggling up in bed with a Saturday 9.

1) Do you come up with your brightest ideas early in the morning or late at night?  I’m not very high functioning in the morning, so I’d have to say nighttime.  However, my best ideas come when I’m somewhere I can’t act upon them – the car, the shower – and then I forget them.

2) Are you more likely to feel romantic at night or in the morning?  See above, but as long as it’s not too early in the morning, either way is good…I’m easy.

3) Do you shower in the morning, after work or before bed? Morning

4) Is there an artist whose early demise surprised and saddened you?  I guess Kurt Cobain was the most tragic celebrity death of my generation.  This might be cold-hearted, but I’m never very surprised about a celebrity death.

5) Do you have a cool nickname? (If not, feel free to give yourself one right now.) I’m not really one for nicknames, but my friend Jlo calls me K-Mac

6) When was the last time you had the blues?  The work drama over the last couple of years had me reeling a bit.  Just last night I went out with some friends who are still at that school.  Even listening to the things that are still going on there, caused me to be on edge.  I had to remind myself, thankfully I don’t work there any more.  That is such a relief.

7) Crazy Sam is eating Trader Joe's Snickerdoodles as she composes this. What's the last snack food you ate?  I had Ruffles with a sandwich for dinner the other night.

8) Do you worry about preserving endangered species? Or do you believe in survival of the fittest?  If they are cute and/or furry I am concerned.  If they are slimy or scaly, not as much.  Seriously though, animals and plants on the verge of extinction is a travesty, and the repercussions of extinction should worry all of us.

9) Would you ever hire a lawyer who runs commercials on TV? Do you know anyone who has? No and no

  1. You bring up a good point about the animals: I am upset at the thought of any of them leaving us -- but it's the photos of the penguins and polar bears that encourage me to get my credit card out, not "the slimy and scaly."

    1. Oh there's that picture of the polar bear "stranded" on a melting ice flow. It breaks my heart and makes me weepily think "save him!" Plant and animal extinction says a lot about us I think.

  2. Over the years I too, have not been surprised at the demise of some celebrities. They sometimes are their own worst enemies. TJ has mochi. I just went to TJ but it is too far away for frozen stuff. The RV has a good size freezer, so that may change.

    1. Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one who never gets terribly emotional about a stars death. Any death is sad, but my own family and friends are more my concern than they are.

  3. Wednesday I had lunch with friends from work, some of us are retirees and still are working there and we learned how things are there now. Who retired and who passed away, it is sad to hear about has happened to some of them.

  4. On #2, I don't think romantic, in any of it's manifestations, is the word. And if the originator of the meme doesn't know the word far be it from me to tell. Suffice to say it ends in 'ny'.
#6, I'm truly glad you are out of that place. I expect you've told about 1/10 of it, and that was an ugly story.
On the Artist, I very rarely use that term and even then I think Francis Bacon as a painter. I think Gabriel Byrne or Hugh Laurie, perhaps.

    1. (Chuckles) and I'll leave it at that. :)
I'm glad too, every single day!
There are very few celebrities I'd use the word artist to describe.

  5. I just had to laugh at your blog title! Cracked me up!

I know all too well about working at a place that brings you less than joy.... thankful for you you're not there! Stress in the work environment is NO FUN!

    1. Thank you. It is one of the best ps names I've ever heard. Luckily my first street wasn't something like 6th St. :)

  7. Oh, that's true about forgetting my best ideas that come in the middle of the night.

    1. I've heard of people who keep paper/pencil by their bed for that very reason. That would be useless in the shower or car though.

  8. Happy to see you visited me. And I will have to read the story about the work place and get up to speed. Glad you don't work there anymore

    1. It's not a terribly interesting story, just frustrating. Thanks for coming by.

  9. The shower is one of my best thinking time and/or place. I've joked it's the nakedness, but must admit the fact most other times I'm listening to or looking at something leaving little brain power for thinking.

    1. Ha ha! I agree the shower is one of the few places that (usually) you're alone with your own thoughts.

  10. Yay for 3 days off!

Ditto on the blues- I was in the teacher's room for lunch on Monday and 2 substitutes were there and said they would never go back to my old school again because the kids were so undisciplined. Made me sad as I loved that school...but like you, so happy to be in a new environment :)

    1. Anything salty and crispy are my downfall! I don't usually keep them in the house but had part of a bag leftover from a party...so dangerous. :)
