Saturday 9 Time!

Here’s this week’s Sat 9.

1. If someone, that you trusted, told you that your lover was cheating, would you believe them or not? If I trusted them and they had no reason to lie about it, yes.  Why wouldn’t I?

2. What is something that you are disappointed about right now? I’m disappointed that I’m not still on vacation, and that it was 100 degrees yesterday.

3. Jonathan Frid, who was the original Barnabas Collins on Dark Shadows from 1967-1971, passed away in Canada at the age of 87. Who is your favorite vampire? I don’t have a favorite vampire, in fact I don’t think I can even name a vampire.

4. Should there be age limits on social networking sites such as facebook?  Yes!  Luckily my 2nd graders don’t seem too interested yet, but the drama FB has caused with our 5th and 6th graders makes me think they are just too young to handle it.  Actually, I think I’m even too young to handle it!

5. Tell us about your pets. Do you have one that you wish would run away? Rigby is my +/- 2 year old Queensland Heeler.  I rescued her about 4 months after my Queensland of 15 years died.  I didn’t think I could love another dog as much as I did Koho, but this new one is so cool.  She’s a crazy puppy, but a pretty good dog and super funny.  I do not wish that she would run away, but there are times she drives me crazy.  Rigby steals shoes from the closet and tissues from the trash.  She doesn’t care if she runs around in the wet grass and drags mud into the house.  And because she is a herding dog, those instincts just can’t be helped.  On walks, she tries to herd squirrels, other dogs, cars and trucks, and playing children.  At home, she tries to herd me around the backyard.

6. Do you ever have a hard time with morals? I don’t know what that means.  Do I have a hard time being moral?  I don’t think so! I’m pretty keen on doing the right thing.  On the other hand, my morals may be less rigid than others.  When personal rights are stomped on under the guise of “morals”, then I have a hard time with them.

7. Did you make 'a plan' the first time you made love or did it just happen?  I must say that the term “making love” is just so silly and makes me giggle a little bit, but to answer - it just happened.  I’m a planner, but for that…not having a plan is usually more fun.

8. Do you agree that fame is lousy or would you love to give it a try? Why? There are certain things about fame that sound very appealing, but the bad out weighs the good.  I don’t even like my picture taken.

9. Do you believe in forever, as in 'love forever'? Sure, I guess so.

  1. "I do not wish that she would run away, but there are times she drives me crazy." I know EXACTLY how you feel. My cat, Reynaldo, wants attention from me when he wants it, and it's exhausting.

  2. Your take on 5th graders was rather interesting. My kids are grown, so I didn't give the question about fb much thought. I fixed your link on Sat 9... :)

  3. @The Gal - Yes! Rigby is quite pushy in the attention department as well. Now that she's getting bigger she's kind of a beast.

  4. 1] yes.
    2] Nope, I'm good.
3]Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee, always Sir Christopher Lee, CBE, CStJ, and ever Sir Christopher Lee. He IS Dracula. When you see his face you know him.
4]Don't care. FB is on it's way out. As is google. They are too Corporate nowadays. I give them 'til '17, then they will be a MySpace.
5]Jess vomited on my duvet this morning. She's been slinking about the place ever since. She's not ill of anything.
6]Ditto with your answer. A moral by nature is flexible, has to be. Otherwise why not call it Law or Rule.
7]Plan ?. No man has a plan exactly. We're somewhat like the battery since about 12.
8]A bit of a non question.
9]Meah, forever. Best to focus on today and maybe tomorrow. I reckon forever will take care of itself.

  5. @Bud - Thanks for changing it - that link was automatically embedded. The hormones are raging for some in 5th and for most in 6th...facebook only makes it worse. The parents at my school are not terribly involved so these kids are left to navigate this tough time by themselves. They are SO immature but think they are adults. No one (unless school staff is able to snoop because the student didn't beef up their security settings)is monitering their FB, and that is scary.

  6. @Vince - I do recognize your vampire - he's kind of the epitome of Dracula isn't he. Poor Jess, I hope she perks up soon. Adore your last answer...
    Thanks for playing! ;)

  7. I like your answer about morals and I can imagine facebook being a problem for Middle schoolers and JR High.

  8. How on earth are kids that young allowed to be on Facebook? I teach high school and they are bad enough with it.

  9. I had a Sheltie that would try to herd every car that went by us on our morning run. Not fun.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

  10. I don't know about a pet I want to run away...perhaps if the question was about a kid....just joking of course.

  11. @BC - Yes, jr. high would be worse I suspect. I had a professor in my Masters program that said middle schoolers needed to be sent away to the desert for the duration of middle school, only returning to start high school. I tend to agree. :)

  12. @kwizgiver - I know! I believe fb's age requirement IS 13, but truly, how would that be enforced?

@harriet - i think the herding instinct is fascinating, especially when kids are running around her. It's not in her nature to let "her group" stray, so she becomes very concerned and goes into work mode. The neighbor kids are so thrilled with it though.

  13. @Marey - ha ha! Right?!?! I've never had a pet I didn't want anymore, but there are certainly kids from my past that I wouldn't have missed. This year not so much. Last year is another story completely.

  14. LMAO - that term 'makin love' is so ridiculous!!! I can't read it or hear it without think of that Bad Company song.

I used to think that vampires were sexy, but now I am not so sure.

Maybe Antonio Banderas in Interview with a Vampire, but I feel the same way about him that I do vampires.

I used to think he was sexy, but now I am not so sure.
