For the first time in my life I have new pots and pans; new, good quality pots and pans. Up until now my cookware has been piece milled together with hand-me-downs and crap purchases from Target or Kmart.
These new ones are not the best money can buy, but they are pretty darn good. Stainless steel and an assortment of sizes…I could kiss them. I love to cook, but recently my love has turned into an “ehhh”. My new pans have inspired me. This morning I planned my menu for the week and just returned from shopping for ingredients. I plan on cooking all weekend!
The only problem is that they are almost too pretty to cook in. I don’t want to ruin them. Last night, after unpacking them yesterday, I had a dream that I cooked with them and it was an utter disaster, so bad in fact that I burned them up and even warped one of them. I woke up this morning so relieved that I had not really melted steel.
I think more Tasty Tuesdays are to come!
You dreamed about your cookware; lol! That would so be me.
ReplyDeleteI too, have pieced together cookware; I am copper-bottomed with envy...
Oooo, fancy! I think that is fun. I'm sure you'll get your money's worth.
ReplyDeleteHa! When I first looked at the photo I thought the table was set for dinner and I wondered why there were handles on the silver plates......not that I need glasses or anything....
ReplyDeleteHappy Cooking!
lMnop
That's one huge set of pans! You only have 4-5 burners, right? LOL
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you cook up, and I love the crystal bowl!
Ooohhh! Aaaahhhh!!! Yes, bring on more tasty Tuesdays! I'm trying Pumpkin's enchiladas tonight!
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty Pumpkin! Can not wait to see what delicasies you cook up. I should google how to spell that. I am too lazy.
ReplyDeleteI wish you lived next door so you could give me lessons. I made chicken parm for gary and kaish last night. It ended in disaster. I am a cooking failure....
Man!
So excited for you : )
I love the set of pots and pans!!!! I am holding out to get a fantastic new set one day... copper ones.
ReplyDeleteHowever that time will have to wait. Kids and nice pots & pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, furniture, rugs, knick-knacks, knives, vases, mugs, tea cups and chairs do not mix!
In one day, a certain red headed child who shall remain nameless broke three (out of six) of my antique crystal martini glasses I purchased in Chicago, managed to be moved unbroken to 7 new homes, trans pacific boat cruise, a cross continental train ride, and many drunken nights pretending to be Ethel Mermam.
Then another certain partial blonde hair adult partner who shall remain nameless burned boiled potatoes in a my best pot.
Then a certain blonde haired child used my best tongs to remove a dead wittle wabbit.
One day, Pumpkin. One day my pots will come, along with the set of knives and that red mixer.
One day all of my measuring cups will stop disappearing in the dog food bag.
One day my baking dishes will no longer be used to mix horse food.
One day...
I would love new pans--my next set will be Le Creuset. First I have to put my kids through college!
ReplyDeleteInteresting dream... Maybe it means you need to hire a personal chef? You know a really hot one!
ReplyDeleteYay, congratulations!!!! Feels good, doesn't it? Your dream above was hysterical too. I love when you wake up and realize it was just that, a dream. Not sure what it means though.
