At this time every year, I wonder why the heck I live here! Blech! (I did see a forecast that said 108 on Friday and Saturday, but couldn’t get the picture to save.) The rest of the year is nice, but this is NOT!
July was gorgeous while the rest of the country was sweltering. Now they are gearing up for fall, and we still have 2-3 months of this. {weeps}
I just don’t function at full capacity when it’s hot. That’s all.
And it WAS 108 today! I think I need to move to Alaska or something.
I want your weather!! It is still winter here and the highs are only the low 70s. BOOOOO!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks the same here!
ReplyDeleteWith most Irish there is a narrow range, 19.7'celcius to 25.35'celcius. Above that the moaning is terrible to hear. Below, the normal setting, and the moaning has an edge of depression to it. Lucky indeedy that we fortify ourselves with Vit D. I get mine from the consumption of oily fish. Others have other sources.
ReplyDelete@Hula - ohhhhhh the low 70s? That sounds fantastic! It DID get to 108 today which is more than I can stand. It wouldn't be so bad if I could stay inside, but dismissal without any shade to stand in is awful. I arrive to school looking fresh and professional and I leave looking beaten down and disheveled. :) Blech!
ReplyDelete@THe Blonde Duck - I know you guys have had it bad this year...maybe even worse since it's been so much longer.
ReplyDelete@Vince - Ya, I'm pretty irritated with it. The good news is my vit D seems to be just fine if the freckles and sunburn are any indication. Hopefully it will do me some good when I develop skin cancer from all that scorching sun!
You should file an OH&S complaint for the installation of some shade cloth or planting of trees or at the very least some cocktail umbrellas you could wear as earrings.
ReplyDelete@Hula - Ha ha ha! I'd love a pair of cocktail umbrella earrings! :)
ReplyDeleteI knew it was hot, but 108 is just too hot! No one feels good at this temperature. I would rather take humidity hair and the wet look from pouring rain, instead of the wet look from sweat! And when it is so hot, people become very irritable (especially me!)
ReplyDelete@Elana - And ME!
ReplyDeleteHey, in Alaska, you could live next door to the Palins!
ReplyDeletem.
@mark - and see Russia!
ReplyDeleteThat's just too hot. It's not right.
ReplyDeleteI'll come with you!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it so.
ReplyDelete@Jason - I thought maybe you did, until I caught you commenting on how hot it was. You can't possibly be enjoying this. 90 I get...110? No way! :)
ReplyDeleteGeez you could just move 200 miles north....we had no summer at all....and you'd get paid a lot more too...but then of course everything else is more expensive too...we've had 3 days of summe rthis week...can't jinx it now!
