After waiting for an entire crazy school year to end and finally being summer break, I can’t believe that July is over and I have to go back to work in a couple of weeks.
I think this month’s calendar for the Kathryn Wheel Calendar challenge is my favorite thus far. Having the time to decorate some of the days, was fun and I like the bright colors.
I washed the journal page with acrylic and then “dirtied” it up with drippy paint, ink, and gesso.
Instead of using store bought paper, I made my own with acrylic wash to use as the date squares. I like how bright they turned out.
I didn’t spend ANY time journaling in this journal at all in July. I did however get a chance to start my Sketchbook Project book. The theme is “Travel With Me”.
It’s been fun to sketch some of the local places I’ve been so far this summer.
Chicago also offered some good sketching opportunities.
Only 7 full pages to go until the sketchbook is finished, and I have until January.
Wonderful vibrant colours, love it. Your travel journal is simply STUNNING, fantastic
ReplyDeleteI love your sunny, bright colours in your July Calendar page. And your sketch book pages are awesome, I still have well over half of mine to fill! Thanks for stopping by my blog, nice to meet you! Valerie

ReplyDelete@flutterbycrafter - Thanks! Glad you stopped by.
ReplyDelete@craftattack - The sketchbook is fun, but I'm having a hard time with it being seperate from my other journal. I'm trying to fill it as fast as possible because once school starts up I won't have the time.
@Becky - It DID go by fast. Ugh, I'm so not ready for vaca to be over.
ReplyDelete@Angelica - Hey lady! Of course the winery and grilled cheese truck made it in. Great fun!
@Jlo - Thanks!
Your photos won't resize so can you tell me if one of those guys in the kilts has his hand on the other guys arse.
ReplyDelete@Vince - Ha! I checked my phone for emails while sitting in the manicurist's chair just now and giggled out loud at this comment! They were pretty hammered so it's quite possible, but I don't think so. He was probably just trying to hold himself up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh. :)
I LOVE the Chicago sketch from your river cruise!! Should be on a t-shirt!
ReplyDelete@Hula - Thank you!
